Gold & Opalite Pendant

This pendant was sculpted using 14k gold filled wire and a 25x18mm opalite gemstone. With the gold setting it measures 45x20mm (25 mm= 1 inch.) As always all measurements are approximate and I include a picture of the pendant to give a better idea of the size.

Opalite is a glass with an opalescent shimmer. It is translucent with a bluish tint.

Gold filled wire is NOT the same as gold plated as it has about 100 times more gold than plated does and is not subject to the same problems of flaking or chipping off that is experienced in the inferior plated wire.color:white
